Real Time Clock (RTC)

Locking systems with RTC have a software real-time clock. RTC makes it possible for time stamps to be written by the locking system to the transponder media (e.g. wristband, card or chip), which define how long the medium is valid at the corresponding compartment. When this time stamp expires, the card is no longer authorised for access. In addition, the real-time clock allows certain actions to be programmed at a defined time. For example, an automatic unlocking process can be defined, which enables the operator of a fitness studio to open locked lockers every evening even without a MasterCard.
