Sash

The sash lock is a common single-point lock with a pivoting lever that is fixed by a padlock. With the toggle sash lock, the padlock locks the knob. With the safety sash lock, the knob remains free to turn when the padlock is inserted, even though the bolt is mechanically locked. Sash locks have the advantage that they can usually be mounted in the existing mounting hole of cam locks. As with cam locks, sash locks can be combined with bolts in a wide variety of lengths and shapes so that a wide variety of installation situations can be represented. In gyms, sash locks are often used in combination with a padlock to securely lock wardrobe lockers and lockers with compartments (colloquially known as "lockers"). They are mostly used when gym users use their own padlock or when rental padlocks are issued.
