Window fitting
The term "window fitting" icludes all parts that enable the machanical opening and closing of a window: Gear, corner bearing, stay and strike plate. Window fitting is an essential part of security as it makes burglary more difficult. Inferior window fittings can be levered open in a very short time. High-quality window fittings prevent levering open, e.g. by means of appropriate mushroom heads that connect the window frame and sash.
Lockable window handles can also be used. In conjunction with the appropriate fittings, they prevent the windows from being opened quickly from the outside on the one hand, and prevent children from opening the windows from the inside without being noticed on the other.
